Founded in 1953, the Japan Federation of Women's Organizations (日本婦人団体連合会, abbreviated Fudanren) has been associated with many women’s organizations. The first chairperson was one of the well-known first generation Japanese feminists, Raiteu/Raichō Hiratsuka.
This group has called for emancipation of women and children’s happiness. In this context, they have opposed constitutional revision. Fudanren's website contains information about their activities, including their seminars and publications. The Women's Association on the Constitution (女性の憲法年連絡会) is one of the groups that associates with this group.
